Well, I've fixed the crown moulding problem from last post and it's all up and almost ready to be painted. The only thing left is to get some of the nail problems taken care of, and then get that filled in with some putty/spackle/caulk.
When we're done you won't even be able to see the blood spatters where I beat the $#!% out of my thumb with a hammer.
Today, I built a garden.
Jen has been looking at a lot of blogs lately, and one of them had the plans and instructions for building a "square foot garden." My garden is not square feets, not because I'm incompetent or anything, but simply because it would have cost a lot more money to get the plywood cut to the specified dimensions, than to take a 2 ft by 4 ft pre-cut board and just make the garden about 8 inches slimmer.
There is nothing really planted in it yet, the tomato fence thing is just there as a serving suggestion. So far we have Tomatoes, Lettuce, Cucumber and Green Peppers for it, and hopefully some more really soon.
I'm also hoping my strawberries come out this year, they were really really good when they came out last year.
There's nothing like a small project completed successfully to make you believe you could take on the whole carpentry world with just a hammer and some finishing nails... and maybe a Dremel. Did you know you can etch glass with a Dremel? I didn't, but I can tell you that I can't wait to try some creative etching on the windows of the condo. WHEE! "Kyle wuz hear."
Saving the bestest and greatest news for last:
My brother and his wife had their baby on Friday, April 4th at 10:03 in the morning.
Her name is Audrey Ann, and since I'm her uncle, she's the cutest little thing ever.
She was 9 lbs 1 oz and apparently had a full head of hair.
Jen and I ended up randomly watching that episode yesterday. Coincidence? I think not.
I'm really excited for my brother and his wife, and I can't wait to meet her.
